Episode 9

Into the Wild
South Africa has more to offer than ocean and beachside lagoons. Youri takes a trip into the wild where he finds a 'vogelvlei' in the middel of nowhere. After checking out some marine life, he rounds up his South Africa trip with a good session at Struisbay.

Raw Material In episode 8 a cover of clouds pull into South Africa, but that doesn't stop Youri from ripping hard at the Plettenberg Bay lagoon. As he heads to Struisbay the sky clears and with the help of some inside intel he takes a trip in search of some wave action.

Paradise Beach
After winning the second place in the overall PKRA competition of 2009, Youri heads to South Africa. On a road trip he discovers that South Africa has more to offer than just the spots around the Cape Town. The first spot on his trip is called Paradise Beach....with a reason.

Life at the Lagoon
The famous Cauipe lagoon nearby Cumbuco is where it all goes down. Most of the pro riders come here to train a couple of months during the winter. Besides being a great place to train with the perfect conditions, its a lot of fun hanging out and sipping coconuts all day.

It's a hard living. Dragging yourself to yet another beach or lagoon. Blistering heat, a mouth full of salty water and sand in your bed every night.
Its just another day at the office for Youri Zoon. Watch him ripping at a lagoon called Taiba.

The action is on! In the third episode of Youri Zoon RECORDED youri kites on Tabuba, a small lagoon near Cumbuco in Brazil. This episode is full of powerfull and stylish tricks. Kitelovers eat your heart out!

RECorded Episode 2

Youri Zoon just released his second video in the video series called 'RECORDED'. After the footage shot in Tarifa in episode 1, he now travels to Brazil and discovers a deserted spot just 2 hours away from the famous lagoons of cumbucco.

“Brazil is probably the best place to train. The wind in cumbucco is very stable and in combination with flat water, that is just ideal for me. The place we went to shoot this video was quite gusty because of the big dunes, but the scenery was breathtaking. Sometimes you forget that you are in Brazil when you spend two months training in Cumbucco, so it was nice to take a trip, meet some locals and have the water for myself!"

Last week Youri became 2nd in the PKRA competition in Leucate, France. After his 4th position in Hua Hin Thailand, this puts him at the 3rd place in the overall ranking.
